COMING THIS FALL . . .SCC Remote Learning Plan

In these uncertain times, the SCC Board of Education approved at their April meeting to invest in additional devices to allow us to implement a digital Remote Learning Plan.  This Remote Learning Plan is a key component of our Return to Learn Plan and will consist of two basic components.

Grades 7-12 will be issued devices, power cords, and cases.  These devices will be for educational purposes and students and their parent/guardian must read and sign the Responsible Use Policy prior to distribution.  Note: Parents/guardians, please do not buy your child a laptop for school as one will be assigned to them from school.

Grades 1-6 will continue to use their devices in the classroom as they have in the past.  If we would find ourselves in a remote learning situation like last spring, devices will be issued to the student/parent for instructional purposes.  Students (grades 4-6) and parents (grades 1-6) must sign and acknowledge the Responsible Use Policy before devices are issued. Note: Parents/guardians, please do not buy your child a laptop for school as one will be assigned to them from school.

The Responsible Use Policy will be posted on the district website for you and your child to read and review.  More information will be forthcoming and teachers will be completing training to prepare for implementation.

Thank you to the Board of Education in supporting these efforts and we look forward to implementing this newest phase of our technology program.
